The Chicago, IL-based hard rock/metal band Disturbed brought their latest #1 album Immortalized, and a huge stage production to Atlanta’s Aaron’s Amphitheatre at Lakewood. They also brought with them enough firepower to arm a small nation. Massive flamethrowers surrounded the drum riser, reaching the top of the lighting rig at times. The stage was packed with flash pots, blinding strobes and what I can only describe as “bags of fire” hanging from the rafters.
All of that staging actually made for a fairly difficult shoot. Do you have any idea what flamethrowers do to a camera’s light meter? Exposures bounced all over the place, but all in all, I was pleased with many of these shots.
