Suicidal Tendencies

Mixing elements of hardcore punk, thrash metal and even a little bit ‘o funk, the long-running Los Angeles, California-based band Suicidal Tendencies haven’t changed their sound very much over the years. Their fans have changed a bit though. The bands current “Slam City” Tour that stopped in Atlanta brought out a healthy mix of both young and old, which should be expected of a band with a 30+ year history. But these fans weren’t going to let a few years get in their way of having a good time. Read the complete concert review at Target Audience Magazine. Steel Panther

Steel Panther is one part rock band, one part x-rated improvisational comedy act, and one part “surfer-dude.” Each member has a unique personality, but together they click as one. Lead singer Michael Starr is the prototypical blond frontman, schmoozin’ the ladies with tight pants, a quick wit and an ear-piercing, high-pitched scream. Guitarist Satchel is the overly-cocky wise-ass who has got the ’80s/Eddie Van Halen guitar tone down to a science. The dim-witted, androgynous bassist Lexxi Foxx is in a world of his own, spending most of his free time on stage admiring himself in a hand held mirror. Lastly, drummer Stix Zadinia is the quiet one, well, mostly because he’s behind the drums and you can barely see him. Find out more about Steel Panther at these locations: Website | Facebook

Hellyeah

Hellyeah’s music is as subtle as their stage props: two large diamond-plate cutouts of a steer’s head complete with horns. This is music to listen to while you’re breakin’ stuff. Growing out of the ashes of the short lived Damageplan and the visually and musically adventurous Mudvayne, Hellyeah is now on its third full-length release; the band continues to fly the flag for straight-up, southern-style heavy metal. Read more about them at the loctions --> Website | Facebook
